Prayer for Temptation

Father, I come before Thee in honesty and need, for temptation presses hard against my soul. The flesh whispers its old persuasions, and the world offers its hollow promises. I confess that in my own strength, I am weak and vulnerable. But Thou art mighty, and Thy grace is sufficient for every trial I face. Strengthen me where I am frail. Guard my eyes from what would defile me, my ears from what would corrupt me, and my heart from desires that draw me from Thee. When temptation comes—and I know it will—grant me the wisdom to recognize it and the courage to flee from it. Help me see sin not as a small thing, but as an offense against Thy holiness and a wound to myself. Fill the empty places in me where temptation finds its foothold. Where I am lonely, give me Thy presence. Where I hunger, feed me with Thy Word. Where I am afraid, anchor me in Thy love. Teach me to cry out to Thee in the moment of weakness, not to hide in shame. I ask for the mind of Christ—His perspective on what truly matters, His power over the flesh, His unwavering allegiance to the Father. Make me holy, not through my striving, but through Thy Spirit's transforming work. I place my trust entirely in Thee.
