The Prayer

I confess that I have turned to substances, behaviors, and false comforts instead of turning to You—the only true source of healing and peace. My body is not my own; it belongs to You. Yet I have surrendered it to addiction, and I am weary. I ask You, Lord, to break the power of this addiction over my life. Give me the strength to resist temptation in my weakest moments. When the craving comes, help me cry out to You instead. Surround me with people who will speak truth and hold me accountable. Grant me wisdom to recognize the triggers and patterns that lead me into bondage. Most of all, fill the empty places in my heart that I have tried to fill with anything but You. Show me what I am truly hungry for—Your presence, Your love, Your purpose. Heal the pain underneath the addiction. Restore my mind, body, and spirit to wholeness. I choose today, in Your strength, to turn away from this path. I believe You are greater than any addiction. Help me take it one day at a time, one moment at a time, trusting that You will not leave me or forsake me. Thank You for never giving up on me, even when I have given up on myself. Amen.
