Prayer for a Friend

Gracious Father, I come before Thee with a grateful heart for the gift of my friend. Thou hast blessed me with their presence, their laughter, their steadfast loyalty. I lift them up to Thee now, asking that Thou wouldst guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Strengthen them where they are weak; comfort them in their sorrows; guide them in the decisions that lay before them. Give them wisdom to navigate the complexities of this world, and grant them the courage to walk in faith even when the path grows dark. Lord, help me to be the kind of friend they deserve—one who loves faithfully, listens deeply, and points them ever toward Thee. Let our friendship be rooted not in convenience but in the love of Christ. Protect this bond from the envy and discord that the enemy loves to sow. May we sharpen one another like iron sharpens iron, growing together in grace and truth. If my friend is carrying a burden I do not see, would Thou lighten their load and remind them that they are never alone? Bless their family, their work, their dreams. Prosper them according to Thy perfect will, and help them always to remember that their true worth comes from being beloved of Thee. Keep us both faithful in prayer, faithful in love, and faithful to point each other toward Jesus. In His name I pray, Amen.
