Where Soul Goes After Death In Hinduism?
Hinduism is an ancient religion with a long tradition, and it has many beliefs about the afterlife and soul reincarnation. Hinduism believes in the rebirth of the soul, so when a person dies, the soul is believed to move on to a new life in another body. Hindus believe that the soul is an eternal being, and it is the only thing that survives death and remains unchanging.
The ultimate goal of a Hindu is to reach moksha, which is the highest state of spiritual enlightenment and liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth. This cycle is often referred to as samsara, and the soul is said to go through multiple incarnations and lifetimes until it finds moksha.
When a person dies, Hindus believe that the soul leaves the body and travels to a realm known as Yamaloka, which is the realm of stay for the deceased. In Yamaloka, they are met by Yama, the God of Death, who assesses their karma. All karma refers to the good and bad actions a person has done in their lifetime, and Yama determines whether their soul goes to Svarga-loka or Naraka-loka, depending on their karma. Svarga-loka is an afterlife paradise, where people who lived a good life are rewarded with peace and joy. On the other hand, Naraka-loka is a hell-like place, where those who have done wrong in their lifetime are punished for eternity.
Once the soul has spent its time in either Svarga-loka or Naraka-loka, it is reincarnated into a new form according to its karma. Hindus believe that all souls are connected, and that each new form the soul takes is determined by its past actions. This cycle of death and rebirth is known as samsara, which means “wandering” in Sanskrit.
Hindus also believe in the concept of karma, which is the belief that a person’s actions in one lifetime will determine their fate in the next. Good deeds and kind acts in this life will lead to a better rebirth in the next, while bad deeds will lead to a worse rebirth. It is believed that the soul can eventually achieve liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth if it accumulates enough good karma throughout its multiple lives.
