Where Does The New Testament Start?

The New Testament begins with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus, a Jew from the region of Galilee in ancient Palestine, is believed to be the Son of God according to Christian faith. He spent his life preaching and teaching the gospel of God to people throughout the region, and performing miracles like curing the sick, restoring sight, and raising the dead.

He also established a new covenant with God: that those who followed him and believed in him would have access to eternal life. In doing so, Jesus effectively replaced the old covenant established through Moses, which required obedience to the Old Testament laws and regulations.

Around the year 30, Jesus was arrested and put to death by crucifixion by the Roman authorities. Three days after his death, he rose from the dead and appeared to many of his followers. This is known as the resurrection, which Christians regard as the central event in Christianity and the fulfillment of God’s promise for salvation.

After the resurrection, Jesus’ disciples began to spread the message of the gospel and the new covenant to people around the world. This movement eventually led to the formation of the Christian church and the writing of the New Testament — a collection of letters, gospels, and other writings that tell the story of Jesus and his followers.

The New Testament focuses on the life, ministry, and teachings of Jesus, as well as the experiences of the early Church after Jesus’ ascension. It includes the four gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — which tell the story of Jesus’ life, ministry, and passion; the Acts of the Apostles, which records the early Church’s mission to bring the gospel to the world; and the Epistles, which offer explanations and insights into the Christian faith.

The New Testament also includes the book of Revelation, which recounts the visions of John of Patmos, a Christian prophet, and is considered to be a prophetic book.

Overall, the New Testament is an incredibly powerful and inspiring collection of literature that brings lessons and inspiration for believers of all ages. With its timeless stories and powerful messages, the New Testament is an essential cornerstone of Christian faith.
