What Will We Do In Heaven For Eternity?
One of the greatest questions in life is, ‘What will we do in Heaven for eternity?’. This question has been asked since eternity passed and no one can seem to agree on an answer. The Bible says, “For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first” (1 Thessalonians 4:16). In other words, when God calls us to Heaven, we will be received into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And since Heaven is a place of ultimate joy, happiness and peace, it is fair to assume that whatever we do in Heaven, it will be in complete delight, and unending joy.
When we first enter Heaven, we will be greeted by all the angels and saints who have gone ahead of us. We will also be welcomed into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will be able to worship Him and talk with Him directly. We will get to enjoy the blissful beauty and holiness of the environment and be able to focus all our attention to our Lord and Savior. We will be able to spend time in personal devotions and prayer with our Lord.
Once we have been welcomed into Heaven, our time there will be spent in worship and praising God. We will be able to join in the songs of praise that are sung by the angels and saints around us. We will be able to join in offering thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all that He has done. We will be able to sing His praises and glory with the angels and saints.
In Heaven, we will also be able to enjoy fellowship with each other. We will be able to talk and laugh with our loved ones and experience the joys of friendship and camaraderie. We will have time to learn more about each other and to grow in our walk with God. We will be able to spend time getting to know our Lord better, so that we can grow deeper in our faith and in our commitment to Him.
In addition to worship and fellowship, we will also be able to partake in education and learning activities. We will be able to discuss and study the Scriptures, and explore all the mysteries of faith and revel in the knowledge of our God. We will also be able to use our gifts and talents for the glory of God and explore the wonders of His universe.
As we come closer to the end of eternity, the Bible tells us that we will no longer need a temple (Hebrews 8:1). We will be invited to come into the presence of God and dwell with Him in His eternal home. We will be able to enjoy the fullness of Heaven and all its pleasures and joys.
So, while we cannot know exactly what we will do in Heaven for eternity, we can be sure that it will be a time of pure delight, joy and fellowship. We will be able to enjoy worship, fellowship, education and learning activities, and will ultimately be invited to come into the presence of God and dwell with Him in His eternal home. Heaven will be an eternity of pure bliss and joy and it will be a time that we will treasure for eternity.
