What Mountain Did Noah’s Ark Land On?
Noah’s Ark is one of the most famous stories in the Bible – and it’s no wonder why. It’s a tale of God’s mercy, devotion, and faithfulness even when times were incredibly hard. Not only did God provide a way for Noah and his family to survive the great flood, but He also directed them to a destination where they would be safe.
According to Genesis, the ark came to rest on “the mountains of Ararat”. In some translations, this is known as the “mountains of Urartu”. This is the mountain range located in present-day Turkey and was the most likely spot where Noah and his family found refuge during the great flood.
Not only did this mountain range provide Noah and his family with safety in the midst of the flood, but it is also symbolic of God’s promise to never again destroy humanity with a flood. Whenever people look at the mountains of Ararat, they remember the covenant God made with Noah and all of creation.
Noah’s story is one of many that demonstrate how much God cares for His people. He wasn’t willing to leave his beloved creation to perish in the flood and instead, He provided a way for them to survive and to renew their trust in Him. Through these stories, we learn that God is a loving and merciful God who will provide any and all of us with salvation and refuge in times of need.
