What Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Against?
Jehovah’s Witnesses are a Christian religious group with a distinct set of beliefs. As a result of their beliefs, there are certain ideas and actions they are against.
One belief that Jehovah’s Witnesses reject is the notion of a Trinity. They do not believe that God is three persons in one being. Instead, they believe that Jesus was a separate entity sent from God to earth to be a perfect human sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are also against the celebration of any holidays and birthdays. They believe that holidays and birthdays distract people from their Creator and encourage a materialistic attitude.
Additionally, Jehovah’s Witnesses reject the idea of blood transfusions, even when their life is in danger. They believe that physical life is sacred and that it should only be taken away through natural means like aging or illness. As such, they are against practices like euthanasia and suicide.
Jehovah’s Witnesses also reject the idea of taking an oath or pledging allegiance to any government or organization, believing that this implies idolatry. Furthermore, they reject the idea of taking part in politics, as they believe it is contrary to the commandments of God.
Finally, Jehovah’s Witnesses are against saluting national flags and singing national anthems. They believe that this form of patriotism and nationalism hinders the chance of living in true unity.
The beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses are outlined in the Bible and they refuse to accept any idea or concept that contradicts this. This is why they are opposed to any practices or traditions that have no biblical backing.
