Is There Sex In Heaven?

When it comes to Christianity, there are a few ways one can interpret the Bible to answer this question. One perspective is that there will not be any physical, sexual acts in heaven. In 1 Corinthians 6:9 it states that “neither the sexually immoral…nor adulterers…will inherit the kingdom of God.” This would suggest there will not be any sexual activity in heaven. In addition, Jesus taught that “at the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage”(Matthew 22:30). This would also suggest that there will not be any sexual activity in heaven.
However, there is an alternative interpretation of scripture that states that there will indeed be sexual activity in heaven. This interpretation is based on passages such as Revelations 22:2 which states “on either side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month.” This suggests the idea of eternal fruitfulness, which many view as a metaphor for everlasting sexual pleasure. Additionally, in the Song of Solomon, the relational love between husband and wife is celebrated, which some view as a metaphor for a heavenly relationship between God and his people.
Ultimately, no one can say for sure whether there will be sex in heaven. The Bible does not speak directly on this issue, and so it is up to individuals to interpret the scripture in a way that is appropriate and meaningful. For those who are religious, it is important to study the Bible and pray for understanding. Those who are not religious can rely on philosophy and personal beliefs to answer this question.
