Is Skechers Owned By A Jewish Family?
For many years, the iconic footwear brand Skechers has been a favorite among fashion-savvy sneaker heads. But it wasn’t until recently that people have begun wondering whether Skechers is owned by a Jewish family. And it turns out there is a basis for this speculation.
Skechers, which is headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California, was founded in 1992 by Robert Greenberg and his son Michael Greenberg. Robert and Michael are both Jewish. Robert, in particular, is an observant Jew who is proud of his Jewish heritage and has gone on to found a number of other successful businesses, such as the sports apparel company LA Gear.
Although Skechers is now a global company, with many branches, factories and distribution centers, it is still family-owned and operated. The Greenberg family still serves as the company’s CEO, with Michael Greenberg holding the title of president and Robert Greenberg holding the title of chairman and CEO.
Furthermore, Skechers has built strong ties with the Jewish community. Through the Skechers Foundation, the company supports a variety of Jewish causes, such as the Jewish Federation of North America. Additionally, the brand has teamed up with a number of Jewish-owned organizations, including the UJA-Federation of New York, Chabad of Russia, American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and the American Jewish Committee.
Skechers is also a proud supporter of the State of Israel, a country that has been home to millions of Jews for more than 3,000 years. The company has donated to numerous Israel-based organizations, such as the Israel Action Network and the Jewish National Fund. Additionally, Skechers has created several lines of products that feature Israeli design and artwork, such as the Israeli-themed sneakers and apparel collection.
So, while Skechers is not technically owned by a Jewish family, there is no denying that the company has strong ties to the Jewish community. The Greenberg family’s commitment to Judaism, their generous donations and ongoing support for Jewish charities, and their ongoing support for the State of Israel are a testament to that. As a result, Skechers can be said to be a strong ally of the Jewish people.
