Is Pink Jewish?
Pink, the pop star and award-winning musician, is Jewish, but the singer has kept her faith relatively quiet. While the Jewish faith is an integral part of Pink’s identity, she is not particularly open about it with the public.
Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, was born to Jewish parents and raised in the Jewish tradition. Her mother was an experienced Jewish JCC professional, having worked for a Jewish Community Center in Doylestown, Pa. for several years. In her childhood, Pink attended a Jewish day school, a Reform synagogue, and a Jewish summer camp during her formative years.
When asked about her faith by a fan during an Instagram Live, Pink revealed that while she takes part in some Jewish practices, she has not been to a temple in a long time. She also added, “I still feel culturally Jewish but I’m not as much in my faith as I should be.”
Pink has demonstrated her Jewish faith through her philanthropy. She has been an outspoken advocate of LGBTQ rights, is an outspoken advocate of the rights of immigrants and people of color, and a passionate supporter of the Jewish community. She has made donations to organizations such as the Jewish Community Center of Philadelphia, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. She has also been involved in philanthropic initiatives like the Pink & Blue Project, a program to support parents and children of multi-ethnic backgrounds.
While Pink does not openly discuss her faith, it is clear that her Jewish heritage is an important part of her identity. She has shown that she honors her family’s religious roots by carrying out philanthropic works and standing up for the rights of all people. Pink is proof that Jewish people, even famous ones, can be positive role models and examples of respect, compassion, and acceptance.
