How Wide Was Noah’s Ark?

Noah’s Ark is one of the most well-known stories from the bible. We at Bible Hint believe that these stories are invaluable, as they provide us with an example of how steadfast God’s faithfulness is and how we can use it to better our lives. That being said, the Bible provides us with a wealth of information when it comes to the actual size and dimensions of Noah’s Ark.

In the book of Genesis, God speaks to Noah and commands him to take two of every kind of animal on the Ark, along with his family. To this end, he provides Noah with precise instructions for constructing the Ark. He specifies that it should be 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits tall. In Genesis 6:15, each of these measurements is further clarified, with a cubit being the equivalent of 18 inches.

Therefore, based on the measurements specified in the Bible, Noah’s Ark would come in at 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet tall. The Ark had three decks, each with a window for ventilation. This would mean that the Ark was capable of holding more than 1.4 million cubic feet of cargo and living space.

By using God’s instructions, Noah was able to create a structure that was capable of withstanding the worldwide flood and housing all of the animals onboard until the waters retreated. This is the perfect example of faith and obedience in action. It further reminds us of the importance of following God’s commands and seeking His would in our lives, no matter how difficult it may seem.

We at Bible Hint have always taken heart in these stories, as they provide us with a source of inspiration and a sense of direction. To that end, we offer a daily Bible verse text message subscription, designed to help our subscribers get closer to God and their faith.
