How Many Days Did Noah Stay In The Ark?

When we think about Noah and his family’s journey in the biblical flood, it can give us a great reminder of God’s steadfastness, and we can be inspired by Noah and his faith in God’s plan.

Noah and his family were told by God to build an ark that would house two of every animal species and seven of every clean, or Kosher, animal. Once the ark was built and the animals were boarded, the Lord shut the door to the ark and it began to rain for forty days and forty nights.

The Bible tells us in Genesis 7:5, “And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.” This means that Noah and his family, along with the animals, were on the ark for one hundred and fifty days total.

During these one hundred and fifty days, Noah and his family endured the tremendous storms, the absolute darkness due to the flooding, and the uncertainty that comes with not knowing when the journey will end. We can only imagine the faith and courage it took to remain in the ark during these trying times.

Noah and his family were also the only ones on the ark, with no one to talk to and no outside help of any kind. The ark was a place of refuge for them, and for the animals, so it must have been comforting to know that the Lord was with them, and that He was protecting them and the other creatures He had asked them to board.

It certainly wasn’t easy for Noah and his family. We can only imagine the strength and perseverance it must have taken to stay in the ark for one hundred and fifty days. For many of us, just one day of uncertainty can seem like an eternity. Noah and his family relied solely on their faith in the Lord and His plan, and they endured.

The story of Noah and his family serves as a testament to God’s everlasting faithfulness, and it should be an inspiration to all of us who are looking to grow closer to God.
